Established in 1996, Patriot Engineering Services (PES) is a leading supplier of spare parts for heavy equipment, trucks, and passenger vehicles. With strong relationships with select suppliers and years of industry experience, PES excels in understanding the intricacies of machinery and the critical importance of high-quality spare parts.

Project Background

To address the challenges in the current manual-driven sales process and also manage the growing demand for a more efficient and streamlined sales process, Zaigo developed a sophisticated web application for PES. This solution was essential due to the client’s massive inventory database, which contains over 2 million product records. Real-time inventory data is required for the distributed team worldwide to instantly send quotes to customers and convert them into orders.

Previously, PES’s manual process required sending emails with part numbers and product information to the head office in Miami, Florida, to generate quotes. This time-consuming process often involved more effort and led to increased errors. The client wanted to digitize this process, allowing the sales team and customers to search for products by part number and create quote requests directly, securely, and quickly.

Goal

The objective of the I-order project was to make the PES inventory easily accessible to sales teams and customers, enabling them to search for products and request or generate quotes with increased security and privacy.

Additionally, with a global sales force, the web solution needed to automate and streamline various operations to address delays in processing quotes caused by time zone differences. The client also required the platform to ensure the security and privacy of pricing and quotations, preventing competitors from gaining access through existing customers/vendors.

Zaigo’s solution empowered PES’s customers to efficiently search for products using part numbers and request quotes via a secure vendor portal. The portal required customers to log in with registered credentials, mapped to the user’s IP address.

Any login attempts outside the assigned IP address triggered a notification to the admin and provided an option for customers to request access from the new IP. This approach enhanced security and privacy, ensuring that only authorized users from designated locations could access the application.
